The real RcCoy?

Re: The real RcCoy?

I noticed that, too. If I hadn't seen that, I would've passed it over without a second thought.

Re: The real RcCoy?

I can't help at all. I just wanted to post and say that you did a great job with this thread title.

Re: The real RcCoy?

This is the only thing that makes me think it MIGHT be real..... I`d still steer clear, though.
Would you still steer clear at a price of say, $200-250? I've already got a the pickguard and electronics for it.

The headstock looks pretty genuine, too. One last thing that makes it a bit more believable to me is that it's entirely feasible that it's been raided for parts, since Rickenbacker replacement parts (esp. nameplates and tailpieces) are ridiculously expensive.

Re: The real RcCoy?

It's sketchy for sure but I just can't imagine that a fake would have 2 rods...

See if you can get a pics of the back...it looks to be neck thru but a few more pics would be even more helpful.

The real RcCoy?

I seem to remember reading somewhere that Rickenbacker won't even sell you a truss cover with their logo, or an "R" tailpiece, because they are concerned about them being used on counterfeits.

Pretty sure that's the case. You have to send in your old one in exchange.

Unfortunately, someone did the buy-it-now for that listing, at only $340 or so. Hopefully I spared myself some headache and heartache by passing on it!
