I think they sold a lot of them, so it was only natural to have the ability to make more.

Since the Slug and the Colossal Incantation share the same DCR, I wonder how closely they are related, is the CI only different due the duel row of mag poles vs the double bar mags?

the dual ceramic bars as poles vs normal poles and ceramic shared between the coils is going to make them sound different for sure. not sure how close the coils are

Always nice to see CS offerings become regular production.

This pickup will probably be too hot and overwound for my tastes (I don't even like Invaders), but it will be cool to see what sort of following it gathers.

If you don't like Invaders, I doubt you'd dig the SLUG. But the SLUG don't care, man.

The slug sounds extremely fat, chunky, and is not hot perse. It's DCR is misleading in that regard. It's not like it's 2x the JB output or something like that.

The Slug is like using a jackhammer to kill a mosquito.

Oh, and with the recent influx of a lot of customshop pickups into the regular line: I don't think it's a matter of 'they've become popular so let's make 'm production', but rather 'the customshop is super-busy, so let's retool and redesign some jigs and fixtures so the regular production floor can make these pickups and take some heat off the Customshop'.

That's my guess.
