Here's the latest design from Station Audio (that's what I'm calling my little pedal making venture.)
Check out the Demo on Youtube
The Sparkle Punch is a dual channel boost/overdrive pedal. The first channel is a mosfet based clean boost and the second channel is a dirty boost that gets its sound from a 12AU7 tube. I scored a lot of vintage 12AU7s a while back. This one has a Sylvania right now, and all the ones I make available for sale in the future will have quality old stock tubes (RCA clear tops, Sylvania, etc.)
When you put both channels on at the same time, you get a nice natural overdrive. You can also push both channels into saturated territory, but where this pedal really shines is when it's right on the edge of breakup. Used in conjunction with a tube amp, this pedal becomes part of the preamp and acts as another gain stage. Depending on how you set it, you can push your amp into breakup with one stage and then kick it over the top with the other. I've been having fun experimenting.
Enjoy!
Let me know (via PM or at stationaudio.net@gmail.com) is you want to buy one.
Enjoy!
