Yeah, it's a combo. One big fat box, single 15. It sounds unreal with a tele. I need to make sure it's biased properly, it gets a little splatty when dimed. Might put my British Mullard EL34's in it, I think it'll sound delicious. One little problem these things had was a 7199 tube, that is hard to get these days, but they can be converted to a 6U8 relatively easily.

My senior year of high school I got a BF Fender Bandmaster with the small 212; a classmate had a SUNN Solarus head with reverb and tremelo and a pair of 6550s. His amp was louder and punchier, with fuller mids and would stay cleaner longer. The Fender though, had a much better over-driven tone, smoother and creamier...it would sing. Sounded great with the volume on 7...and would quickly get me grounded if pushed for more than about 30 seconds, lol! But that SUNN amp rocked, ballsy as hell!
I still own the SUNN Solos II 212 combo that I paid the rent with for more than 20 years. And I will always have a soft spot in my heart for these old SUNN tube amps. SUNN power is like a sledgehammer!

Nice. Nice simple tone stack, I like that. Years ago, the first tube amp I ever bought was an old Bassman with a 2x15 cab that was later stolen from a friend's practice space. Don't it always seem to go, you don't know what you've got 'till it's gone? or something like that.

Never played a Sunn amp. I am more of a dedicated Ampeg user but I am curious what Sunns sound like.

You might consider adding a 10" to that cab. The right 10" & 15" cab makes a Tele sound heavenly.
