The Texan's Help Lew Auction

Frito's Better Half
I'm joining in on the fun.

Alright, I'm revamping this. What I have for auction is:

Full fret replacement (bass or guitar)

Bone saddle and nut

Hotrodded setup

and a refinish.

That's four different things that are available for auction. PM your bids, and let me know which service you're interested in. Highest bidder wins. I'll cover all shipping, and all "profits" (or whatever you wanna call 'em) will be donated to Lew's fund.

Like I said, all shipping will be covered, so it'd cost just as much as taking it to the local guy down the road. Don't be skiddish, this is for our buddy, our friend, and in the best interest of your instrument.

I'd also like to add, I have an Audition semi-hollow body from the 70's that he who shall remain nameless sent me. I plan on starting the refret tomorrow, should be up and running in a few days. I'll offer it in this auction as well.

Re: The Texan's Help Lew Auction

Shoot - my '88 Fender Squier needs a new nut and new frets. I done wore it out. It's my #1. Maybe I should make a contribution to this cause my own bad self! :lmao:

Seriously, I haven't commented on the fund raising and all because I'm speechless. Other than saying "THANK YOU" a few hundred times I don't know what else to say. I'm deeply touched but feeling very unworthy of all of the attention.

I'm going in for another three days of chemotherapy next week and will discuss with my doctor how to proceed now that my insurance company will no longer work with the 20 Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers in Colorado.

I do not want to switch to another doctor when what my current doctor is doing is working so well.

Many, many thanks Dustin/Beandip!

Lew

I would totally take you up on the bone saddle and nut (I have a guitar that needs both) if I wasn't terrified of the guitar being destroyed en route to/from Texas.

If you want to just remove the saddle and nut off the guitar, I can make exact copies of them, and you can do the final fitting.

Can you make mirror image copies? Like if I gave you a left-handed nut, you'd make a right-handed copy?

Yeah, I'm sure I could do that too. Thinking of switching? We knew you'd come around and stop playing those backwards guitars.

Re: The Texan's Help Lew Auction

Alright guys, I've had a few take me up on this, but not nearly as many as I'd like.l You've got until 11:59pm on Monday to work out the details with me. Otherwise prices go back to normal, and Lew doesn't get the whole shebang (he will continue to receive some). Right now, we've got 5 who've jumped on the bandwagon, let's get 5 more, huh?

Re: The Texan's Help Lew Auction

Ok dudes, "auction" ends just before midnight tonight. Afterwards prices go back to normal, and only a percentage of the price will go to Lew.

Re: The Texan's Help Lew Auction

Dustin, my buddy AJ might want you to refret his Jimmie Vaughn Strat. How much?

Tell him to get ahold of me through facebook, or my email address posted in my user CP. We'll work something out for a buddy of yours, man.

Re: The Texan's Help Lew Auction

As of closing at midnight on Tuesday, we've raised 480 dollars for Lew's fund. Thanks guys, I couldn't have done it without you, and I'm glad to know that there are people out there who will open their hearts (and pocketbooks) when other's aren't able.
