Theoretical Hyperswitch Question

Hi There!
I'm working on a project, strat style, but with 2 Humbuckers, and I'm thinking about the Hyperswitch, just for giggles. My question is this: in all of the wiring diagrams, it looks like Humbuckers can only be split, and the coils cannot be discretely controlled. Is this correct? Does using 2 pups instead of 3 but me any more control flexibility? Thanks

Also, is there an off-line version of the app, so I could experiment before I actually buy the switch?

I am not sure if you can play with the app when it doesn't have a connection to actual pickups. You can always download it and see if it works. With humbuckers, you have some choices:

Humbucker pickups can be assigned as:

• Standard Full (grey both coils, slugs highlighted both coils, as shown above): coils in series in standard wind direction
• Standard South Coil (grey south coil with slugs highlighted): split to south coil of the pickup, normal wind direction. For most humbucker models, the south coil is the coil with the screws, sometimes referred to as the adjustable coil. The south coil is usually closest to the neck on a neck humbucker and closest to the bridge on a bridge humbucker.
• Reverse South Coil (blue south coil with slugs highlighted): split to south coil, reversed wind direction.
• Reverse Full (both coils blue): coils in series in reverse wind direction
Standard North Coil (grey north coil with slugs highlighted): split to north coil of the pickup, normal wind direction. The north coil of most humbuckers is the one with the slugs, and is the farthest from the neck in most neck humbuckers, and is the furthest from the bridge in most bridge humbuckers.
• Reverse North Coil (blue north coil with slugs highlighted): split to north coil, reversed wind direction.
• RP (gold): Coils out of phase in parallel. Coil starts are hot.
• PRP (green): Coils out of phase in parallel reversed. Coil finishes as hot.
• Off (black)

Thanks Mincer (as always!), I downloaded the app, and it won't let me play around with it, without being connected to a switch, that's why I was hoping that there was some sort of a demo or test version...

In my brain, I'm seeing this as a matrix switcher, with each coil, or pair of wires, as a single input. I'm thinking that, in my 2 Humbucker configuration, I could somehow utilize the unused center inputs to create even more flexibility. It would take a bit of experimentation to determine how the switch is controlling each coil, and in what config, but it might be an interesting science experiment, next time I have a couple hundred bucks to throw down...hmmm....

It is actually a good idea to make a test version, just to see what is possible.

Or at least offer an off-line function within the existing app, it would also allow users of the switch to create new voices without a guitar in their hands...
