Thinking about getting the "Hot Rodded Humbucker" set...

Ok, I want to replace the humbuckers on my guitar (which is an agile al 2800, very similar to a les paul). I want something that will provide good clean tones, while still giving me distorted, metal tones. I'm looking into the Hot Rodded Humbucker set and thought it looked good for what I want. Still, I want to know I'm getting the right set for my intrests.

Also, I have another question. I want to have the nickel covers on my new set, and obviously this set doesn't come with them. Could I just remove them off of my set and put them on the new ones? Gibson sells nickel covers for like $13, so I could do that if needed. I've never upgraded or anything, so I know nothing about switching them. Thanks.

This is a tried and true combination for an LP style guitar and will most likely fit the bill for what you want to do.

Nickel covers can be fitted but I think the Gibson covers will not fit correctly. You can buy Duncan covers or the ones sold through Allparts will also work.

Duncan can also install covers and wax pot them for you if you send them the pickups. Lastly, you can special order the pickups through one of the dealers here in the forum with nickel covers already installed.

Do you have this set (with the nickel, of course)? If not, who does?

I don't have them at the moment since I am just getting my stock built back up but I do have some on order from Duncan. If you need them quickly try:

Kevin at Black Rose Customs: blackrosecutom@verizon.net

or Lew at Lew's Guitars: lewguitar@aol.com

I also have a call into Kevin to see if he has them in stock ....

Between the three of us we should be able to get you set up!!
