thinking of getting rid of JB, getting lower output pups

hey guys, i'm really getting tired of the JB in my SG. i think i really want a more classic sounding, lower output pickup, possibly a duncan 59. i still have the stock neck pickup, but i'm thinking if i'm gonna switch the bridge pickup, i might as well do both this time around. so right now a set of 59's for neck and bridge seem to be the way to go, but i figured i'd pop in here and see if you guys had any other suggestions.

Great idea if ya ask me :D

I love a JB in a Strat or similar, but just don' t care for them in a Gibson instrument whatsoever.

Since a SG is kinda middy as is (really just has less low end "oomph" than a Les Paul is what I've found, not necc more middy), a bassier pup like a 59 or (apparently) the c-5 would be a great choice for the bridge, and a 59 in the neck would rock too.

Its been awhile since I had a JB, but I remember it as having lower output than my 59. Be that as it may . . . I love my 59 set in my Predator. It seems to do everything . . . blues, jazz, rock, you name it. ;)

I have a pair of 59s in my strat and love them. I have found throughout the years that it is much easier to take a lower output pup across the tonal spectrum than it is for a higher output pup. Let your amp do what it's suppose to do---work!!

Seth Lover Bridge and A2Pro neck. Great combo in mahogany. Lots of character for classic rock.
