Nobody has come up with SD's that come close yet have they? Guitarists Attention Deficit Disorder

In case you didn't look at the Tone Report interview - "my Fender custom pearloid Strat with Rio Grande pickups" not Lace

Just based on Chris' overall stylized sound and how Hershel fits in the Cali 50's set would be my first choice, especially since you dig Robbie Blunt too.

The Zephyr's would be wild to try, just saying :outahere:

Rio Grandes are great pickups. They’re all pretty hot though, at least compared to vintage Strat pickups. The Blackface Fender has plenty of headroom to deal with that though.

I think it’s the player #1...and then the way he has his tone adjusted and the effects he’s using.

That actually sounds a lot like the guitar on the original recording to me.

Even if it isn’t the same tone, it’s the skill, taste, touch and phrasing of the player...and the way he has his gear adjusted.

I’ll bet if he used my Strat and set up his sound using my gear, that he could still make that sound...even if I couldn’t.

Beautiful tones and an equally beautiful song!! I doubt many care, but I always loved that song.

I care. I've always loved that song too. :)

And I should have posted that I knew most of the tone is coming from the amp and fingers. I would have thunk most people that know me from thi forum would have known that. I guess it just goes to show that one must post everything 100% from their mind when they post.
