This pedal suddenly does not exist: DELAY

Aceman

I am your doctor of love!
What now? Most of you survived chorus just fine. And a lot made it through Overdrive, although I suspect some remained suspiciously silent...

But what if Delay ceased to exist/function?

All delays that are not explicitly reverb; Digital, Analog, Tape, real or simulated. Pedals, Racks, Multi-fx functions, you name it.

And before someone asks - these threads are not cumulative. You have your Overdrive and Chorus back.

I could probably survive with different amounts of reverb. I might want a bit more volume to make previously delayed solo parts stand out, but it is doable.

i could do it fine. last night was nothing but dirt and amp reverb. it is nice to have delay for sure, but i can live without it.

My favorite effect by far. The last one to go for me would be delay.

I know I played for a few years without a delay. But after I got my DD3...

I might be able to get by without Reverb...But I have to seriously ask if it would be worth playing. I'd seriously consider going acoustic.

I read an interview with John 5 once where they asked what delay pedal he used for a certain song and he was like "Oh I just play the notes more on that part."

Reverb is the one effect I absolutely need.

I only use them for a slight delay, sometimes a slap back to 2 or 3 repeats max. I usually don't have the level very high. That's a hard one though, I use delay a lot but only subtly. I love it with a little chorus and reverb. I'm sure I could live without it since it's not a dominant sound for me. I'm more chorus and reverb with a hint of delay.

I could easily survive. That would just mean more BrUtUlZZ and no pretty intros, etc. If I had to live with amps and a noise gate I could do it and did for many years (by choice). Gotta have the gate for those chugs to keep them

For many years I played with just a delay, no reverb. If one was gone, I’d simply use the other.

I mean . . . maybe it would be possible to survive with reverb instead of delay. But . . . Jesus . . . this is the darkest of all possible timelines.

Ace, I need a rule clarification. What about mechanically manipulated Analog Delay/Phase/Flange? If allowed -I would hire a Rasta hype man onstage to manually do my effects with his fingers and tape loops.

Sh*t would rule.
