Five completely independant channels, each with their own controls, and 4x KT88 / EL34 - 16x ECC83 - 1x ECC82 - 1xECC81... That's criminally insane! :eek13:

I wonder how it sounds. I have one of this guy's overdrive pedals, the GAS-828, which is absolutely brilliant. I take it these amps are nothing short of awesome :notworthy

Is this a new record for 'most tubes in a single amp EVER'?

Re: Those crazy Germans...

Dude I obny counted 13 ECCs ... but still I wonder if you can line them all up into one gain stage, I doubt you would need an overdrive or a distortion after that .... just chorus and flange that byatch and you will be ruling them all !!! Due to the fact that it has clear sign of German tendency to build conquest like machinery the amp should be named "Lets invade Poland again"

i counted 18 (check next to the tranny.. behind the first row of ECC's)

LOL, that sounds about right

Re: Those crazy Germans...

How much would a re-tube cost :fingersx:

around 250 euro, or 300$ for a full retube (this taking into consideration you bought sovtek ECC83's, which are 6.1 euro a pop.. if you bought EH ECC's, it'd cost ya around 66 euro more)

Re: Those crazy Germans...

I liked it better the first time when it was called the TRIAMP.

Nice that it takes Germans to out-do the Germans, right?

Oh yeah and I liked it even better when it was called the Convertible. Oh yeah I liked it better when it was called "all of the different preamps in my huge rack sitting here next to me!"

This thing is not completely like the Triamp. Whereas the Triamp has three independant two-channel preamps with only three sets of EQ and only separate gain pots per channel, this Flexamp features five TRULY independant channels, each with their own EQ. This fact alone makes it beat the Triamp in terms of versatility.

A similar design by Dutch amp-builder Koch is on its way, by the way. It will be called the Supernova, and is fully midi-switchable, with a number of presettable FX-loop options, clever tone-shaping options and choice of 120 watts mono, or 2x60 watt stereo use.

We wantssss it... Precioussss!

Re: Those crazy Germans...

too many switches and knobs make my head explode!

I don't mind them, as long as they're useable :fingersx:
Most of these switches control parameters you'll be storing in MIDI-presets anyway, so you don't have to bother with those :)
