I played one at Guitar Center today and i really liked it minus the pickups (comes with 490r/498t, i would put Seth's in it). Tell me what you like/dont like about this model.

Re: Thoughts on Gibson ES333

I like everything about the brown one! I dunno, simpler thing, still really nice looking, with a nice set of pick-ups I'm sure they sound gorgeous!

Tattooed carrot has one and he put a set of Seths in there... From what I've heard it's just an amazing sounding guitar...

Re: Thoughts on Gibson ES333

I got one earlier this year off of eBay. It's the natural (blonde) color and plays real nice. I tried a Pearly Gates set, Antiquity set and Seth Lover set in it and Seth's stayed. They just sound perfect.

You can get a great deal if you find one used. Once you change the pickups it is basically a 335 with a thinner finish and no pickguard.

awesome, i was planning to put seths in it, its good to know that they are a good match. i will probably get one for christmas.

I bought the brown one and put Seths in it, it just smokes with Seths, and looks better with the covers too. I also switched the modern speed knobs for more vintage looking tophats.

RE: this axe and hollowbodies in general.

PROS: Amazing tone, a bit of a peak or "HONK" in the mid-range that's actually real cool, makes it sing a bit more than say an SG or Les Paul. They usually play like a dream (I did my last CD with a hollowbody)!

CONS: Prone to feedback onstage. A bit uncomfortable to hold onstage for some folks like myself

TC: that is one sexy guitar...
The Owl: They are not uncomfortable to me, and i expect feedback since the Seths are not wax potted and i plan to get a noise gate to hopefully help out with that.

Re: Thoughts on Gibson ES333

man im really wanting a hollow body these days for some reason all the cool cats are playing them! only problem is....im not very tall ..about 5'5 or 5'6 meaning ill look like a stunted midget playing those babies. Otherwise id so buy one! And TC that brown one look AMAZING!!!!!! kind remind me of the tom dleonge signtaure minus the one pcik up one knob and random racing stripe.

Re: Thoughts on Gibson ES333

Strat master,

There are some smaller semi-hollows out there. I think the Epi Kat series looks real promising for a smaller semi-hollow body size.

BTW, I love my Blueburst ES-137 Classic, and I'm starting to get an itch to try a set of Seths in it.

TC, I always thought you had a red one (dunno why)... That's exactly how I want mine... Nice...
