Thoughts on Reversing Peter Green Mod?

I recently picked up an old Tele blackout on eBay, the one with basswood body, Pearly Gates in bridge and '59 RP in the neck. I'm not crazy about the out of phase sound in the middle position. I am thinking of changing to a coil split with push-pulls. I guess I'd have to follow the Peter Green mod instructions in reverse -- reverse the magnet and flip the pickup. Anyone have any experience in reversing the mod like this? Any thoughts on the resulting sound combinations vs. what I have right now.

Thanks.

i never thought of this as a "mod", more of an annoyance since i've got all 3 of my HH/PH guitars wired up with phase switches. just go in there and flip the magnet, but not side to side, flip it so that the sides touching the coil poles are on the opposite poles.

easy still: reverse the wires. Don't touch the mag unless you know what you're doing.

Well this is what I wondered what is the difference
in sound
between
reversing wires
and reversing mag
and turn the pickup.
Guess someone cd surely teach us-

flipping the pup around so the screws are further from the neck will change the sound slightly. little brigher and less boomy but fairly subtle. still in phase though

the difference in sound between magnetically out of phase and electrically out of phase is basically nothing. i cant hear any difference at all

How about the coil tap question? Any thoughts on how the PG and '59 sound tapped? And would you match up the outside or inside coils?
