Threw a humbucker in my ric 330.

Got bored with never being able to use the guitar much due to feedback. The stock single in the bridge registered around 13k and sounded like a P-90 with a little more beef. Sure it was a great pickup, but it squeeled horribly bad.

I decided to buy a RIC humbucker from www.pickofthericks.com and they got it out to me in 2 days with a nice thank you letter, great service.

Here's a picture of the 330. The only real difference in appearence is that the humbucker has a solid textured black top instead of having pole pieces.

Tonal differences:

The humbucker is much more present and tighter. Like compairing a P-90 to a modern high gain humbucker.

Its output range is right at 15k, and it uses a suranium(sp?) cobalt magnet.

Now my 330 has the least feedback and noise of all my guitars but still sounds the best. Excellent for everything from 50s pop to modern metal.

Only problem I have is that it's out of phase with the neck pickup. Anyone know if flipping the ground/hot on the neck pickup will correct that?

Oddly enough this is my 2nd guitar that's hum/sing and is having phase issues.

John Hall just confirmed it for me.

Resoldered the leads and fixed the phase issue, thanks!
