Thunder from inside my guitar - what's going on?

This might be newbie question but there's nothing wrong in asking questions... When I strum bass strings I hear a strange sound coming from inside of my guitar (I think so). Sounds like a thunder, a growl. It happens sometimes, from time to time. What's that? Something wrong with springs? (that's a strat). I mean, is it something I should be afraid of?

It could be the springs vibrating... You could shove some foam into the trem cavity and see if that helps while you wait for someone who has more experience on the topic to chime in on this. :D

I get this on my low E (tuned to C) on my Ibanez, too... I've always been curious as to what it was, since it wasn't my springs... It makes my string sound really different from the rest of the strings, though... I never had the problem until I switched to heavy (12-52) strings.

It's probably something loose (tuning gear, screw, something) resonating at a certain frequency. Take some time, and track it down.

Oh, yeah! I forgot about that. The nuts on my tuning pegs tend to come loose for some reason and that did cause that in the past... As for now on my guitar, I've went back and checked absolutely everything and everything is in its place. I'm just confused for me, but that totally makes sense for kaligula11.

does it happen when you play without a strap ? ... i know i get a weird thunder like rattle if i have the strap on and sitting down ... if i stand up, the noise goes away ... if i take the strap off, it goes away ... turns out it is a vibration in the schaller straplock when it is not under tension

My first thought is the springs rattling. Foam should take care of it. If it doesn't, I'm with beandip, see if everything else is nice and tight on the guitar.
