tips on good tone? with bk pups and kmt2

hey guys,
Im fairly new to the world of good tone and i was wondeering if u guys could share your secrets or tips to a good fat lead tone. i am thinkling along the lines of master of puppets or fade to black. i am using the emeral neck pickup and a keeley modified metal zone. should i also get an eq pedal since its frustrating to keep the same tone controls for the bridge adn the neck?

If the pickups don't sound good on the same settings, get a different bridge or neck pickup. A good set of well matched pickups will sound a ton better.

i like to have a guitar setup with pups that both get good sounds with the same eq settings. stepping on an eq everytime you switch pups sounds like a pain

A good amp will go a long way to getting a good, fat lead tone. What are you using now?
