tips on not looking at frets

Do you guys have any tips on playing without looking at the frets?
I happen to look at them whenever I do solos. I trying to force myself to not look when its anything other than single notes. I notice that in most solo guitarists look at their frets while doing solos, so I guessing its okay for when you do solos.

If you've got a mirror, try plaing while looking at yourself through the mirror... that gives you the confidence of seeing what you fret but not directly looking on the frets... play a while then turn away from the mirror while still playing...

When it's dark, practise stood up in your room, with the curtains closed and your light switched off.

If you hit a bum note, go back to the start of the piece and start again.

I think you should look at the guitar when soloing . if you dont want to look at it , practice in dark or close your eyes or whatever

I went through a phase where I felt I had to wear my guitar low and never look at the neck. Then I realized I played a lot better with it up higher and it didn't matter one bit if I look at the fretboard. Don't worry about stuff like that.
