Tone Help

ok i have been using my Guitar Port alot lately and then i go back to my amp and i have become VERY dissatisfied. i like the tone from my guitar port so much better. my Peavy XXL head cost me $520...my GP $100 i think my head should sound at least jsut as good. any tips on how to get some better tone out of my amp. if you listen to my clips you can see the kinda tone i want. if anyone with a XXL can give me some tips i'd b eternally grateful

well i meant with my amp, i've gotten the thing better but idk there something about the tone w/ the GP that i like, i guess i jsut have to tweak my amp.

you wanna talk about sick...i'm in a similar boat but in deeper water lol...i've been using my pod XT through a set of...wait for it...altec lansing surround sound computer speakers with sub (4 speakers 1 sub) in my room and the tone i get out of this setup is amazing, i don't know why but i think that little sub is helping my sound alot. it just has a killer metal sound on my custom mesa setting. granted they are high dollar computer speakers but WTF i found killer tone through computer speakers hahaha....i think i'm going to get an atomic amp to stick my pod in and see how that works.

yeah i dont knwo what the deal is. i think my "Modern" setting on my amp is messed up with is 1/2 my problem, apparently that setting is closest to what i want, but it's broken or something, i have to get my amp checked out.
