I recently swapped out stock HB pups for some SDs in my es335 style Hagstrom guitar. The pups sound great, however, the tone sweep has all but disappeared (except for an almost on/off treble boost between 1 and 3). A bit of quick research leads me to believe that my stock pots are "linear" as opposed to "audio taper" and that could be the source of the problem (although oddly, there was a full tone sweep with the stock pups!?). Can anyone confirm or deny this to be the case? And if so, any recommendations for some quality 500k audio taper pots? Also, if I'm going to the trouble of replacing pots, should I just consider a whole new assembly? Please note that the switch and jack placement are not the same layout as a Gibson. Thanks in advance for any recommendations!
