Tone pot question

I am going to put an active mid booster on my guitar. However, the booster will occupy the place that used to be the tone pot. Therefore, I would like to know a few things before proceeding with the modification.

1. What is the effect of removing the tone pot and the cap from the signal path completely? Does that change the sound or make it brighter/duller?
2. Is it better to install an RC circuit equivalent to the removed tone pot and cap, or to just go without any tone control circuit at all?

Re: Tone pot question

The overall tone will be a bit brighter, yep. There's no "better", really, as it depends what you like. I would try it with just no tone control. If you like it, then just stick with that.
