Ok, In the history of Heavy Metal and Hard Rock who had the most awesome
tone with most simple set up ? I am through with multi-effects processors, so
I guess stomp boxe set-up examples whould really be helpfull to me. Also it
has to be something that is easy to set for gigs. My guess Zakk Wylde would
be in the top of the list.

Thanks Bro's.

Re: Tone Vetereans Q

A lot of classic tones have been had using a Plexi and a guitar with a couple of pedals. The list is truly endless, but George Lynch, Warren DeMartini, Jimmy Page, Zakk Wylde, Yngwie Malmsteen, EVH, Paul Kossof, all come to mind ...

In most cases they used a guitar -- overdrive, EQ or treble booster -- and amp. That's all.

Re: Tone Vetereans Q

Definitely Tony Iommi

But I honestly think My tone is better (IMO it´s perfect, wouldn´t change a thing even if I could afford to), and the setup is about as simple as it gets: Axe -> V-twin -> Head -> Cabinet :headbang:

Re: Tone Vetereans Q

Warren DiMartini, George Lynch he is one of my major influences and insparation but from what I have read his set up is pretty complex multi-effects processers, effects loops, power amps, preams, and all that stuff. I think same is with the DiMartini. Ok,
brief description of Tommy Iomi set up ???

Thanks Bro's

Re: Tone Vetereans Q

Well, I knew about Young, I was looking for something more complex but not Steve Vai,
Reb Beach or David Gillmore stuff. So, I saw Iommi with Sabbath in 1999 on Ozzfest the tone was awesome. So what is the rig he uses now live ???

I sent the email. You can also see it better if you change your forum view to V Bulletin 3 Style. It's the drop down menu at the very bottom of the page. :smoker:

Re: Tone Vetereans Q

holy crap! never thought they had all those rack stuff in the 70s! :laugh2:

Re: Tone Vetereans Q

Terry Kath. Although he was not in a hard rock band (Chicago), his tone was definitely rock, and definitely killer!
