tone? where for art though tone?

im in a deedely of a pickle!
i have a few gigs lined up for the new year, and i want to blow some minds! though im only playing in a small band, we have some nice songs, and i get to do 1 or 2 nice solos, last time i played with my teeth (not through choice, i feel its too showy, also it sounds awfull!) so now i just want my guitar to sound great....

i realy like the tone satch gets on his newer stuff. the wah is rediculous! but he manages to get screaming distortion to sound so good! you dont even recognise its in overdrive, listen to "love thing" to see what i mean...

so how ever do i go about getting tone this good, clean yet screaming, with harmonics galore and gain through the roof- i have about a grand to blow- advise away

try the Peavey Triple XXX. it's a good tube amp that comes in several flavors. Satch's signature amp, the JSX, is built off of the Triple XXX.
