Tony Iommi pup in Neck?

Does the tony iommi pickup sound good in the neck postition? I thought I read something saying it can be placed in either postions..Anyone expierenced the sound it puts out in the neck?

I think "the guy who invented fire" uses them in both positions. Maybe Christian will chime in.

I have used the Gibson Iommi set in both an Epi Tony Iommi G-400 (SG body), and Epi LP Standard.

Each neck pickup sounded good, but only the Epi G-400 sounded good as an Iommi pair. Wnen the pair was selected in the Epi LP, the sound was hollow and boing-y (yes, I checked the wiring).
