Any of you guys feel overwhelmed at times about the huge variety of options for pickups? Between SD and Dimarzio there are 50 humbuckers to think about! Throw in the rest of the companies and it is dizzying at best!! I need to have ever pickup on earth sitting here with an easy drop in and yank out system so I can try them alllll!!!

(Sorry...bad GAS day) :D

Re: Too many pickups!

I get overwhelmed at times too...

Then I get pulled back to reality when I think that all my heros, didn't have a huge multitude of pickups and whatnot to choose from...most used stock Gibsons...and maybe had they the choice they'd go for something other than what they had.. But the point is they all got those wonderful tones with the "very basics"..

Alot of tone variance these guys had was just picking dynamics...on a Paula I fnd if I fiddle with tone and volume controls and in combination with where and how I pick, I can get alot more out of the guitar than the "typical" sounds. Guys like Gary Moore wrestled more different tones out of a stock strat than you could imagine

I just stick with the PAF vibe these days..BB pros, 59s, etc...
