Too much bass on Vox AD15VT

Mystery

New member
I got this used Vox AD15VT.
It sounds fine but the bass overpowers everything.
I tried preset, manual, bypass, with bass all the way down etc... but bass is still too much.
What is the best combination so all low/mid/high is in balance?
Is there a specific amp model that has less bass?
Thanks

Are you sure it's working correctly?

I had a VT80+ and it actually could have used a bit more low end.

Yes, it's working as it changes sound when I switch amp and also has effects.
The PO said it was not used for few years so probably needs to wake up.
I'll test more settings and with another guitar.

BTW, something wrong with the forum.
When I click on amplifier forum, it still stays at the forum home.

Hmm, I've never played any Vox that made me think, "that's too much bass. how can I dial it back?"

Re: Too much bass on Vox AD15VT

The whizzing bass is gone after turning it on for a while.
Probably it needed some exercise after sitting idle for years.
However, bass is still louder than mids and highs but there are different controls so can adjust things.
The only thing I wish it had was mic input.

I had two-they are thumpy in a bad way because of the cheap cabinet..

Pull the back off- make into an open back. Or make sure it's off the ground.

I recently got (two) vt20x. Same thing-fake thumpy bass.
