Not even a joke; seriously, I will take a beer, a bottle of cheap mezcal, or any other thing of nominal value you provide - pedals & cheap pickups? Just come within a five mile radius of my house and make room in my music space.
All seriousness- if someone used this body/neck as a 'blank' and totally re-shaped them, it could be pretty cool. If I had patience I'd start a contest to give this to whoever has the best idea for a re-vamp.
Positive things about my Strat:
-It has a solid (non-ply) body and a (very) thin finish
-It functions and is playable with decent action/little buzz
-The vibrato actually keeps tune and floats (!)
-Little wear
-Thick neck (though I do not like thick necks; suppose that's why I'm getting rid of it)
Um negative things:
-It was $50 new on eBay
-There is absolutely no finish on the neck, and it barely feels sanded
-The dots don't line up and aren't centered (on the fretboard and side)
-The tuners are not in a straight line
-The tuners also have the strings positioned non-perpendicular to the nut (but not as wonky as a Les Paul
)
-Factory gouge in headstock
-Hole punched through body to ground springs (factory!)
-Huge ugly heel
-Stock ceramic pickups
-Finish imperfect
-Body is radiused smaller on the bass side than the treble side (seriously)
-Tiny zinc vibrato block
-Endless things
-The end of the neck and pocket are shaped oddly; would require mods to use with standard body/neck
-Guitar Center wouldn't buy it from me; and it's only two years old
(Caveats - Will not provide to anyone who only wants to destroy it. Will prefer anyone who actually wants to use it for a worthy cause/re-vamp it into something they can be proud of/feed it to homeless children/dogs etc.)
Guess which guitar I'm trading for a beer:
Um.
Large radius
Small radius
