Traynor amps? Any good?

Re: Traynor amps? Any good?

Personally, I think they are suited more to classic rock/blues. IMO, the amp OD is not enough for metal. Never tried it with a pedal though. They look and feel pretty tough. Good choice for the price if you like the sound....and I do.

Any good? They kick ass!!

That model you are looking at won't do metal though. They have a new 1x12 50 watt model. I think it's called the 50blue or something. It's not on MF yet because it's a new product and the traynor site is being updated.

You might be able to find something about it on harmony-central

Hey, thanks for your input. I used to read those reviews on harmony central all the time, but eventually got tired of reading mixed reviews from some people who (IMO) are not qualified or should not be writing reviews. You know what i mean, the kid who spends 30 minutes playing at guitar center and writes a bad review because he: 1. can't get a "decent tone" (which is subjectable) or, 2. doesn't know what good tone is...

That's why I like this forum... all the people here are serious about their tone. Everyone here seems more knowledgable and mature about gear and tone and playing...

Thanks again for your valued input. that amp has got me drooling...

Anymore opinions?

Re: Traynor amps? Any good?

I owned a YCV40 for a while...and man let me tell you..if you wanna play the blues or classic rock, Rstlessone is DEAD ON...they are PERFECT...with the right pedals you can get a heavy metal tone out of one.....I did get rid of mine though, when I got my Mesa/Boogie Rectoverb..I had no need for it anymore, my rectoverb does everything....and the opportunity to snag a les paul showed itself..and the les paul was the guitar I"ve always wanted...so I jumped at the opportunity. I miss the amp a little, but man, for the price, I can pick one up again in the future!
