Re: Treble Bleed

You can add a cap and resistor for a treble bleed circuit or you can try just moving each tone cap to the middle terminal of the volume pots. I'd just move the tone caps first and see if that does the trick. Hamers come factory wired that way and are brighter and clearer because of it. Also, if your guitar has 300K pots change them to 500K for a brighter, clearer tone. Lew

It Keeps up the treble content as you lower the volume pot on your guitar
FWIW,treble bypass is a much better term, as the treble is not being *bleed off* , the treble *bypasses* being turned down by the volume pot.

Well Frank Zappa did say that the point of words was to communicate, and I knew what you were saying, so I guess my point to some extent was moot ... :laugh2:

I like this mod (cap + resistor in serial) better than a straight cap:

The R in series does more to tune the caps response and tends to effect the pots taper less, I like it also; however I do like a cap by itself of suitable value also ... kinda depends ...then again doesn't everything... :)

Re: Treble Bleed

is the bleed mod appropriate for a p or j bass with a linear vol. pot.? please give opinion(s) or advice! thanx pp

Welcome to the forum pawleep.

I wouldn't expect a lot of answers from people in these threads you are posting in, since they are around 10 years old and most of the participants haven't logged in since then.
