Trem spaced pickup in a fixed bridge

Looking at the spacing of the pole pieces on trem spaced pickups at 2.07 inches versus traditional spaced at 1.93 inches, my sz string spacing which has a fixed bridge measures 2and1/16 inches, a lot closer to the trem spaced pickup. Would I be better off with the trem spaced or traditional spaced pickup?

I'd go for the pickup with the wider Trembucker spacing. :) Lew

Its interesting that "hardtail" doesn't always equal "narrow". My Patriot has a 2 3/16" hardtail, compared to my Strat's 2 1/16" tremolo.

The Patriots strings would lie outside a trembuckers pole pieces.

(One of the reasons I'm looking for a cheap-ish replacement bridge.) ;)

Measure form e-string to e.string. If the strings are 2" apart or farther (center to center), go with a Trembucker. If it´s less, use a standard bridge model ;)

Re: Trem spaced pickup in a fixed bridge

i use a wilkinson hardtail bridge that is spaced about 2 1/8" so i use a trem spaced pearly gates and it matches up well. no dropouts at all
