What would a trembucker sound like in neck position

hi cob, a trembucker will sound a little weird in neck position as long as the poles won´t macth correctly with the strings...the 6th string will go betwen the 6th and 5th pole... i ordered a set of dimarzio pups 2 years ago (paf pro neck, and a "trembucker" Fred bridge) and the luthier put them reversed...and it really sounded weird...the sixth string sounded very thin and compressed-like
