no. not on any Fender, Charvel, Jackson, Ibanez, or clone that I've seen. the strings move closer together as they approach the fretboard and a regular spaced pickup should line up perfectly.
in all honesty, even if the poles/strings are slightly off, your tone should not be affected.

I've got a patb-3 in the neck of my guitar right now (samick radio 10) and have had in the last several guitars that I have modded.
the poles are a little to the outside (especially on the last strat I did) it didn't hurt the sound any to me. So I'm guessing that if they were a little to the inside it wouldn't hurt either...
trembuckers are traditionally used in the bridge of a trem guitar...buck tradition!!

I got an F-spaced Air Norton in my Ibby and it fits perfectly (poles under the strings), dunno if it fits as nicely without the extra breadth :?:

In all honesty, using a trembucker or "F spaced" (as a competitor refers to them) pickup in the neck is gemerally not a good idea, because the extra wide pole spread of a trembucker will actually put the 2 e poles outside the strings by quite a margin and in that case the misalignment is more than large enough to cause an audible difference
it will work fine on some instruments, essentially the wider the nut and neck the better the chance of it working fine. But for example on a vintage strat with a neck humbucker a TB will usually have an adverse effect on the response of the e-strings what with the poles being about 1/8" away and such
