Trembuckers w/ Covers?

I'm finally gonna get some Duncans for my LP Studio (JB & Jazz)

I measured the string spread and I need a Trembucker (it was just over 51mm)

Can I still get it with a cover?, as I would prefer this to keep stock look.

Re: Trembuckers w/ Covers?

There was talk on the board recently about the possibility of having covered trembuckers from SD. I'm not sure though. Maybe Evan will enlighten us. :)

Re: Trembuckers w/ Covers?

I hope so, it took me long enough debating over covered/uncovered...

If not I could have a Jazz w/cover in the neck & a zebra JB trembucker, would look a little odd i suppose but different...

Re: Trembuckers w/ Covers?

 I do the same thing on my Yamaha AES, Nickel covered 59/black Carvin H22b.

Re: Trembuckers w/ Covers?

Haha, I thought it would look kinda Jimmy Page, but different (Zebra), I might do that anyway....

Hmmm.....

While Evan is digging his way through many, many emails, I'll let you know that we do indeed have nickel-silver & gold covered Trembuckers now. :smoker: :cool3:
It's a very recent thing so don't feel like you've been left out.

How much are those going to cost?

i dont think pickups on any les pauls need trem spacing do they?

Some Gibsons do come with a wider than standard tune-o-matic, necessitating a wider than standard humbucker.

Kellie, Thank you very much for your post. Do you happen to know if the trembucker covers can be purchased seperate from buying a pickup?

I havent seen one unless gibson screwed up on notching the saddles. The only tuneomatic style bridges I have seen that require trem spacing are usually on forigen made guitars.

Did the strings not line up with the pole pieces on the factory pickups?

Re: Trembuckers w/ Covers?

My Jackson DR-6 has a tune-o-matic bridge, and it requires a Dimarzio F-spaced pickup for the pole pieces to line-up exactly. Standard Duncan or Dimarzio would not line up and trembucker Duncan wouldn't line up either, so the only one that did was a dimarzio F-spaced.

Re: Trembuckers w/ Covers?

My 1994 and 2004 les pauls both have tremspaced pickups and line up perfect. I would like a brushed chrome cover. Do they make these??????

That's a relief!!!, for a minute I thought I was gonna have to re-think the whole plan...

Theodie - My LP spacing is just a fraction over 51mm, and AFAIK a Trembucker is 52mm and a Std HB 49mm, so a TB would be the best fit, I've heard it mentioned before that on more recent guitars Gibson use Tremspaced p/u's / bridges, can't think why though?...
