Tremolo/vibrato bridge problems for pickups

Q: What tremolo/vibrato tailpiece hardware produces the least problems. I'd think that any wound string going over a sharp ridge is going to have the pickups read the grinding/scratching movement and you couldn't have a smooth effect. But that's what I see a lot is the sharp post units on the bridge.

I'm considering putting on a trem bridge on a custom guitar and don't want to mess things up either by having a two-piece unit give me bridge noise, or have the height of the string move away from the pickups by having a one-piece moveable bridge lift up too much. Surely some company has really nailed this, but I have no experience with these bridges yet.

Recomendations?

In strat-style trems (wilkinson and floyd included), the string isn't supposed to move relative to the bridge.

That might be the case with Bigsby units but in general the strings don't move relative to the saddles.
