Trends in guitar / good deals

I've come to realize something lately, I suppose this should have come to me years ago. If you're not overly concerned with keeping up with the latest trends, you can get fantastic deals on used guitars that for one reason or another are "out of style".....for example, back in the early / mid 90's when grunge was all the rage, the last thing the young guys wanted was a guitar with a Floyd on it or a guitar that was even slightly associated with shred...

It was at this time when I bought a Washburn Nuno N4 complete with OFR, Bill Lawrence bridge and '59 neck, beautiful guitar, ebony fingerboard etc.
It had been hanging on the wall for about 4 months, they had it priced at $500, I offered them $400 and they took it. Hell, they couldn't get rid of it!
On e-bay they go for overe a grand now.

Of course being a dumb***, I played it for a year or so then sold it to a buddy of mine for the same thing I payed for it.

I also bought an Ibanez 7 string with Dimarzio Blades in it for $450 when nobody was interested in solo oriented music...

I can remember during the 80's when shred was king and I was in college. Pointy guitars were in. I bought a Gibson Les Paul custom, black in color with an EMG in the bridge, the guy who owned it before me took all the finish off the back of the body and neck and had disconnected the neck p/u...I bought it for $300.. again
I caught a case of the dumb*** and sold it a year or so later for the same.

You can go on e-bay now and find some really nice guitars like Jackson . Ibanez, etc for almost rediculous prices!

If I would have just held on to those!!!

So what guitars are out there that you guys think are being overlooked now because they or the style of music they are associated aren't "in" ?

I'd like to know too, maybe I'll pick one up and sell it in a few years.

Behringer Guitar packs are sold for about 100 bucks now... they'll come out big in some years and will be worth 10k and more... I suggest everyone gets one of these right now...
