tried sh-5 in the neck.

Interesting! Very smooth and fat...notably very compressed sounding though. Cleans really weren't even that bad either. Makes me consider a stagger-wound Demon for my UGD pup.

Re: tried sh-5 in the neck.

That is interesting. It makes one wonder how a Custom/Custom pair would sound. Say, a Custom in the bridge, with either a C5 or Custom Custom in the neck.

And, if you had one of those 3-humbucker LP's, you could have . . . :laugh2:

Re: tried sh-5 in the neck.

I've always thought Duncan should make a neck Custom. It is such a popular, nice sounding pickup. And something with good clean leads and a ceramic magnet like the Gibson 500T would be a nice addition to Duncan's lineups. Something like the Hot Rails in a full humbucker size would be amazing too. Especially in a Les Paul....

I think that would be the distortion neck.
And as a custom neck, i think a 59 bridge or Screamin demon used at the neck pos. would be this.

Re: tried sh-5 in the neck.

Yeah, I guess. I just want the cream/smoothness of an APII with the punch and output of the custom in the neck.

Once i put my SH-5 on neck position to try :), it was amazing, of course some radical output for neck but the tone was really awesome
