What do I need???
Anybody???
Maybe one of the Pod pro's, which seem to have midi in's & outs.
I know Roland makes some gtr synth box.

I Basically want to control the program Reason, with a gtr, like one would w/ a midi keyboard.

Anybody have any experience in this air-e-a?

if you pick up a roland GK compatible guitar (like any of the brian moore i.13 models) you can go into the roland GK-to-USB converter (GI-20 i think) and straight into the computer

also, brian moore makes a "straight to USB" guitar too ... scroll a bit down the page here ... http://www.brianmooreguitars.com/happening.asp

i do mine the old school way of gk 13-pin --> gr33 gtr synth --> midi out ... works well

good luck

I use reason. I guess theres no reason why a midi guitar pickup wouldn't work. Its the exact same thing that a midi keyboard is doing.

You need an aftermarket MIDI pickup like a Roland GK-2, or a guitar that already has a MIDI Pickup in it....and of course a way to get this MIDI signal to the PC (the least of the problems)

Alternatively (But this is the hard way) you can record the line as a wave, run a few effects over it (mostly auto-pitch / "Space /time stretchers" and "de fuzzifiers"), and export the resulting notes as a MIDI File. It´s about 100X more work than it sounds like, but it´s possible.

I personally would just grab a GK-2 ;)
