Trio recording - Nuages, Days of Wine & Roses

(New to the forum, by the way. Looking forward to being here!)

Today (at our second rehearsal as a group), our trio decided to record some stuff from the rehearsal - Nuages and Wine & Roses, obviously. The recording is a little rough because they're both first takes, recorded with an SM57 hanging from a ceiling fan. I thought it turned out pretty well for a couple of highschool kids playing jazz, though. I'm playing bass on these songs - normally I'm a guitarist, but I decided to buy a fretless bass solely for the purpose of playing in this trio. My bass lines are a little bland considering that I've only been playing for a few weeks, but I think it works alright for the situation at hand. We'll probably get some recordings up soon on which I'm playing guitar and we may even have an alto sax.

Anyway, any criticism is appreciated and I hope you all enjoy. Thanks!

Are you really only 16? That's incredible man! Nuages is one of my fav jazz standards.

I'm just learning jazz myself, do you do any solo jazz guitar?

I checked out your music...your trio sounds great...jazz and blues are the way to go the rest will follow!

Thanks for all the feedback, it's taken to heart.

Yeah, all three of us are 16. I do also do some solo guitar stuff, but I don't have any recordings up at the moment. I may put up my own take over a Wine & Roses backing track.

And jazz/blues is definitely the way to go - I don't think I'll ever go back.
