Triple-shot-style wiring with 2-way mini-toggles

I've never seen the guts of the Triple Shot rings, but I was wondering if it's possible to use two 2-way mini-toggles to get the same result. I'm not going to buy the rings, reasons being:

1) I've used them in the past, and while the sounds were extremely versatile, the switches were very flimsy, and the whole thing stopped working after just a few months
2) It's not for guitar this time. I love the NYCs for bass, and I want to be able to get as many sounds out of them as possible: outer coils for JB (or vintage single coils), inner coils for "warwick" (or modern single coils), series for a modern humbucker tone, parallel for Stingray. I could technically buy two Triple Shots, cut the ring, and use just the switches, but no because reason #1.

Could I, instead of having one 3-way mini-toggle for each pup as SD suggests, have two 2-way ones (four in total) to re-create the TS circuit? If not, is there another way of achieving the same result (e.g. one 3-way for selecting the coils + one 2-way for series/parallel)?

Ok with a three position on-off-on
you can get

Slug coil
Both coils in series
Screw coil

With a three position on-on-on
you can get

both in series
One of the coils
both in parallel

With a two way switch
You can only do off or on for one coil
Either the slug or the screw , you will have to chose

If it has second row terminals
Two rows of three
you can add a second pickup

But again you would have to choose one function

Does anyone know how the Triple Shots actually work with just two 2w switches? They're very intuitive, so if I could replicate it, it's my preferred option.

Two switches per pickup

A single three way switch fets 3 of the four options

Do you want four switches for two pickups
