Gah, posting on a new forum is always nerve-wracking. Hopefully this is in the right area. Anyways.
Modding my PRS SE Custom with a Model 59 in the neck and an SH-5 in the bridge. Fairly common setup from what I've gathered. Putting Triple Shots on both pickups for versatility - I've seen mixed reviews, but I like what's going on with them so far (haven't finished the mod yet).
My issue is that, for whatever reason, I'm not getting any sound from the bridge pickup when it's in series mode or when the south coil is off. Logic would say that the north coil is bad. So I broke out the multimeter and tested the coils independently - both produce outputs in the expected range, and I get good readings when testing them together in series. So the pickup is fine.
Next I thought the Triple-Shot might be bad. Tested that, too. Again, got expected resistances in all positions - moderately lower resistance through the individual coils, significantly lower output in parallel.
So I'm out of ideas. If there's another post like this I apologize. I searched, but didn't come up with anything.
The guitar has a 2 humbucker, 1 volume 1 tone configuration. I'm 99% sure I have everything wired correctly. I suppose I could yank out all the original wiring and rewire the whole thing if necessary. Strange thing is, the first time I installed the Triple shot, the south coil wouldn't work. Now the north won't. Any ideas?
