Triple Shots - mounting ring quality and screw hole alignment

I've really become interested in using one of these with a P-Rails pickup and checked on one of the online vendor websites (MF) about price. A few of the reviews stated the screw holes of the Triple Shot mounting ring won't line up with stock Les Paul screw holes.

Another review said the Triple Shot mounting ring material was soft and he had to barely screw in the mounting ring or else it sank too much.

I really would like to use this system, but these comments have me worried.

How many of you have had problems installing these in a Les Paul?

They make a trembucker version which is wider than the standard USA Gibson-style spacing.

But then, I do think it was stated when they came out that Epiphones were not using standard USA Gibson screw spacing. It should always be remembered that an Epiphone Les Paul is not a Gibson Les Paul.

And if someone's cranking their mounting screws that tight, they have a wood problem.

Yes.

An Epi's screw holes are different spacing than Gibson. Not much of a problem to fill with toothpicks and Elmer's glue then redrill.

The plastic ring of the TS is not soft. That person had a heavy hand.

Thanks for the input, guys. :cool2:

(Some people that post reviews at those places sometimes don't really know what they're doing....which is why I wanted opinions here.)
