Triple shots opinion

I am looking to do another project guitar, the triple shots seem very interesting and versatile. Have any of you had good/bad experience with them? If so, do they come with the 2 conductor wire?

Thanks!

Re: Triple shots opinion

I love the triple shots, they are very easy to install. There is two conductor wire that goes to the pots, but the pickups themselves have to be 4 conductor of course to allow for all of the switching. Here is my take.

The Good:
-The fact that the pickups are wired to the pickup rings and not the pots makes for seriously easy pickup swapping without even getting into the control cavity
-In my opinion, switching by moving the tiny switches right by my picking hand is easier than dealing with push pulls
-Independent bridge/neck configurations! The ability to manipulate the different combinations of split/parallel/series independently for each pickup is amazing. You can go single coil on the neck, turn down the volume, and then your pickup switch suddenly is acting more like a channel switcher when you go to the bridge pickup. I love this trick! Cleans to distortion with a flip of the pickup selector, less chance of tripping myself up on an amp pedal.

The Bad:
-Cosmetically, you can choose between flat rings, or scooped/angled rings (for les pauls). Got a guitar that uses a tune-o-matic bridge but doesn't have a carved top? Too bad, you now have to use flat pickup rings and have your pickups dip away from the strings closer to the bridge
-Creme triple shots have black switches, making them very conspicuous, they don't look like stock rings at all. The black triple shots are a little more covert on account of everything being black
