Trying to find a nice Noise Gate.

I'm trying to find a really good noise gate/silencer that doesn't effect my tone and is for High Gains, but also has sustains when needed. I was looking at the Rocktron Silencer Unit but they don't make them anymore. That thing sounds EXACTLY what I'm looking for.

Anyone got any suggestions? Got about $250.00 I can spend maybe more.

I love the ISP decimator, I've tried a bunch and that has been my favorite. I bought the pedal version but they also make a rackmount that is pretty sweet too

I ain't saying what I do is best... but I use the ISP decimator for lead and crunch and I use the onboard HUSH on my Rocktron Xpression multi-ex to quiet cleans(amp hiss). This is all inserted in the amp FX loop. I found that dialing in the ISP to my gain sounds does not work well for my clean sounds so I have the Hush unit dialed in with a different threshold. The hush pedal got a lot of bad reviews but the rack unit seems pretty good even for gain.

Are you trying to get rid of hiss and squeals from using loads of gain? if so the ISP is probably the coolest thing out there at the moment.

Otherwise, if you just want to get rid of feedback when not playing anything, rolling down your volume control works pretty well.....

ISP Decimator G-String gets all the praise...the normal one is also very good IMO.
