Trying to match up a Custom and a....

I've tried a Jazz, a 59, and an aph-1B. I've had that one in for awhile now but it's really starting to sound muddy to me. Any other ideas? I'm open to bridge model suggestions too. I'm still looking for a nice clear top but with a thick bottom end.

I'm assuming this is in your Les Paul Studio. A good way to clear up a muddy LP neck position is to use a 500k volume pot, if you haven't already tried that. You won't lose any bottom end but you'll get more top end and a little more output. Changing pots made a big improvement in my Standard.

Alternative, hard rock. Sometimes I'll split coils and play some blues.
500k pots I have yessss....

I never did try the shred but yes I have done the JB, not quite what I was looking for (but not bad at all!).
