TS9 w/ Atomic and POD 2.0 problems

Alright so ive spent some time with this new TS9DX of mine in front of the Atomic (which means its in front of the POD, which then goes to the Atomic). I noticed that the TS9 could make the CLIP light on my POD light up pretty easily, but there was really no change in volume, no matter how high up the "level" knob was. I love the tone of the TS9 in front of the POD, but there is no volume boost, which is one of the main reasons i baught it. So i put the TS9 into the effects loop of the Atomic (one chord from the right send of the Atomic to the input of the TS9, and one chord from the output of the TS9 to the return of the Atomic). this put the TS9 between the POD and the Atomic. Now here i can get the volume boost with no problem, but i didnt like the tone nearly as much. So, there lies my dilema. Anyone got any ideas of how to get that tone WITH the volume boost? Anyone else using pedals with the POD and/or the Atomic? Any help here is greatly appreciated.

What happens if you run the pedal between the POD and Atomic? I'm not sure you should even do this, just a curious question haha.

im pretty sure thats what happens when i put it in the effects loop of the Atomic. i could be wrong tho.... anyways, when i put the pedal there, its plenty loud, its just the sound of the pedal is very muddy.

On an already distorted channel, I've found OD's to provide literally NO volume boost. only on clean channels.
