Tube 10 Vs G10 Greenback

I think I will finally swap speaker in my LC15R soonish.

I was thinking of getting a G10 Greenback. What changes in sound should I expect. Would I rather try a G10 Vintage to gain a bit of clarity?

My favourite 10" is the Eminence Lil' Buddy. Open, warm, full and it's even made of hemp. I've never tried the Celestion 10's, tho.

I have 2 Celestion Tube 10s in my Traynor YCV40. They sound great, not the best speakers ever, but nice sound, tight, focused, what you would expect from a well made 10".

That's funny, i think the sound is not bad but I would definitely not say it is focus and tight... It is rather fuzzy I would say?!

I can only speak for what I've used, which are the 2 sitting in my Traynor. No complaints for them, I've thought about switching them out, but every time I turn on my amp and play I don't see any need to.

No I have nothing constructive to say. Except this. Arnaud, I have a Jensen Custom10 in my wee Laney and I wouldn't change it for anything.

+1 , great speaker and it`s not that expensive. I was using it for hard rock tones(with dirt pedals) in a Pro Jr. I used to have.

Now that is interesting. Let me see where could get one of those... and for how much. I was abit surprised to see G10 Greenback goes for £50 when the G10 Vintage goes for 30. I guess you are paying the novelty!

How would I know? :laugh2: I know the sound of the amp, but I sure can't tell which part comes from the speaker. I never swapped it out so it's impossible to know. I have 0 experience with speakers.
