I got my first tube amp today Blackstar ht5 head. I have a few problems, here is signal chain:
guitar-->wah-> jvm overdrive ->amp--> emulated out or effects loop out --> interface line in --> Mac -->headphones
I tested with cab IR's and also its own emulation. And the warm thick fat singing sound I wanted, I couldnt get it..but is slightly better than sansamp(or I dont know how to set it) do you think this is because I dont use a real 4x12 cab and as long as i listen with headphones it will never get a good sound?
Another thing is about pedals, when they are both on, In a certain position wah pedal just starts whistling like crazy also when wah pedal is off but overdrive pedal is on, only in certain "notes" on fretboard, I get this weird noise as if changing the radio station, I play 1 note but it annoyingly alters between 2 notes, shortly that note does not sound clear but gets muddy and dirty, I was able to stop this by playing with the frequency switch on the overrdrive pedal.
Any of these can be a because of an amp/tube problem? Or these extreme whistles and alternating notes are expected in signal chain when using tube amp and I need to adjust my pedals and parameters etc? and dont use wah pedal in that position? which is ridicolus
