What you've asked for is IMO pretty much impossible for someone to answer. At least shim down your question to one type of tube.

I believe that the Chinese make a coke bottle 6l6.

I've used Sovtek LPS and Electro Harmonix. The EH are more agressive and the LPS's are smoother. I had to put an LPS in my first position to clear up muddiness, but kept the rest of the tubes EH for an awesome aggressive modern sound in my Mesa Boogie tremoverb. Sorry haven't tried the others!

Due to what 300b tubes are used in, I think you'd be better off asking in an tube amp audiophile forum. I've read that the new Western Electric 300b is good, but at ~$800 a pair, they are a bit out of most people's range.

Get on Lord Valves's mailing list. He sells new as well as NOS tubes with descriptions, what amps people are using them in etc. That'd be your best bet.

Tube types/shapes:
Large Base - no effect on tone, just heat dissipation
Large Bottle - can have an effect on clean headroom, mostly cosmetic
Coke bottle glass or metal who makes these please? Dunno

Brands VS tone:
Philips? Great American tubes, clean, high output, great for Fenders
China? Shuguang 9th Gen pre tubes are Great. All Chinese power = suck.
Russian? Nice smooth highgain. Sound great in highgain amps, in general.
TAD? Lower headroom. Breaks up faster than most brands.
JJ/TESLA? Great sounding all purpose tube. Best bang for buck. A+
Mullard? Great tubes, great reputation. Expensive.
Tung-Sol - Great tubes, great reputation. Also expensive.
Ei - I don't like them. Thin, glassy, sometimes microphonic. Pass.
Electro Harmonix - Nice gain and tone. Basically Sovtek's top of the line. B+
NOS GE - Great American tubes. Great for Clean amps. Expensive.
Yugoslavian - Always had a great reputation. Communist corruption is ruining it for them.
Sovtek Russian - Decent tubes, similar or same as Electroharmonix. B-
