I found this Tube Clone(Frankinstien)amp through a friend thats for sale..tryed to find out what it is off different sites but no luck.
Its a Combo..has 8 tubes/3 10' speakers w/reverb..either its tweed or cream..hard to tell..really dirty sitting in a basement corner
over 10 years. It powers up and is very loud..but I don't have the slightest idea of what it is..! No names anywhere on it..nor on
the speakers. Hope someone can help me out on just what this thing is!! Or should I just call it a Frankinthing??
Thanks.

Re: Tube Clone Amp?? Or..??

8 tubes and 3x10"s in a Tweed/cream cab?

Chances are it's a clone of either a Bandmaster or similar. 2 power tubes, 2 preamp tubes, phase inverter and tube-powered reverb. Bandmasters, VIbro Kings...lots of clones of either of them. They all used an odd speaker setup before the Twin arrangement.

Personally? I would jump on it, kidnap it, and bring it to a cabin in the deep woods to brainwash it into being my slave. If it's what I say it is, it'll either be Tweed or Brown voiced, and that's some magical tone right thurrrrr.
Unless you're looking for a metal sound. Then you better get a pedal. It'll play Chuck Berry like it's ringing a bell though.
