Well, IMHO, anything with a harder break-up in the power-section should help a little...
JJs tend to be darker and should fit for this I think.
Stay away from Mullard reissues and EH as I found they break a bit earlier and therefore compress a bit more. They do sound very nice but would not fit the bill.
