TUBE TALK: SED & Svetlana

Can someone share some information regarding the origional Svetlana production tubes and the SEDs? It'd be much appreciated as I know squat about tube manufacturers history...

So, I guess the SEDs are made in the same plant with the same construction, materials, and hopefully TONE!?

Thanks for any light you may shed unto the topic.

SED's ( or winged C's) are the real thing. Everything the old Svetlana's are.

New Svetlana's are made by New Sensor, and are generally thought of to be of lesser quality.

Some who actually test the newer Svetlana's (New Sensors) are finding them to be actually fairly good, but different from the SED's.

If you want the old Svet's, go SED, if you are willing to try new things, go to the new Svets.

SED 6L6's are some of the best made. Their EL34's are fantastic also, very musical with a focus on mids.
